Track Renewals Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 20, 2026

This policy applies to the Track Renewals mobile application ("Track Renewals", "we", "us", "our") available on the Google Play Store. Track Renewals is a subscription tracker that records the recurring payments you choose to enter and reminds you before they renew.

By using Track Renewals, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the application.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Subscription Data You Enter

The subscriptions you track — including service names, prices, currencies, billing cycles, renewal dates, categories, payment method labels, and any notes you write — are stored only in a database on your device.

Track Renewals has no user accounts and no server of its own. We never receive this data, we cannot see it, and it is not backed up to us. If you uninstall the app or clear its storage, it is gone, and we have no copy to restore it from.

1.2 Usage and Diagnostic Data

If diagnostics are enabled (see Section 6), we collect:

1.3 Purchase Information

Track Renewals offers an optional one-time purchase that unlocks unlimited tracking permanently. It is not a recurring subscription. Payment is handled entirely by Google Play, and entitlement is verified through RevenueCat, which assigns an anonymous purchase identifier to your installation. No card or bank details ever pass through Track Renewals, and we never see them.

1.4 What We Do NOT Collect

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers who process it on our behalf to run the service:

Provider Purpose
PostHog Product analytics (predefined usage events only, never your subscriptions, prices, or notes). Only when diagnostics are enabled.
Google (Firebase Crashlytics) Crash and error reporting. Only when diagnostics are enabled.
RevenueCat Purchase and entitlement management for the one-time Pro unlock.
Google Play Billing Processing your one-time purchase. No card details ever pass through Track Renewals.
ExchangeRate-API (open.er-api.com) Supplying currency exchange rates. See Section 5.

These providers are bound by their own privacy policies and process data solely to perform services for us.

4. Your Subscription Data Stays on Your Device

This is the central privacy property of Track Renewals, so we want to be precise about it.

Everything you track is written to a private database inside the app's own storage area, which other applications on your device cannot read. There is no sign-up, no login, and no cloud sync. The contents of your subscription list are never transmitted to us or to any third party.

The app's internal data structures contain fields reserved for a possible future sync feature. These are currently inert and unused — no synchronisation service exists, and nothing is uploaded. Should we ever introduce sync, it would be optional, and this policy would be updated before it ships.

5. Currency Exchange Rates

If you track subscriptions in more than one currency, the app fetches published exchange rates so it can show a combined total. Roughly once a day, it requests a public rate table from ExchangeRate-API at open.er-api.com.

That request contains only a three-letter base currency code, such as USD. It carries no personal data, no account identifier, and nothing about your subscriptions — not their names, amounts, or number. As with any internet request, the provider will see your device's IP address and may log it under its own policy. The rates returned are cached on your device so the app works offline.

6. Analytics and Diagnostics

We use PostHog for product analytics and Firebase Crashlytics for crash reports, to learn which features earn their place and to fix bugs.

Analytics events are drawn from a closed, predefined list defined in the app's source code. Nothing financial or identifying may be attached to them: no subscription names, no prices, no amounts, no notes, and no payment method labels. Automatic screen tracking, deep-link capture, and session replay are all switched off, because navigation data can carry record identifiers.

Your choice. Diagnostics are governed by a single switch in Settings → "Share anonymous usage data". Please note that this setting is enabled by default, and you may turn it off at any time. When it is off, analytics and crash collection stop. If it is already off when the app starts, the analytics SDK is never initialised at all, so no identifier is created for you.

7. Permissions and System Features Used

To work the way you expect, Track Renewals uses the following device capabilities:

Permission / Feature Purpose
Notifications To remind you before a subscription renews or a free trial ends. You choose how many days' notice each subscription gets, and you can decline this permission — the rest of the app still works.
Internet access To fetch currency exchange rates, verify your one-time purchase, and send diagnostics when they are enabled.
Network state To check for a connection before attempting to refresh exchange rates, so the app does not waste battery retrying while offline.
Billing To offer the optional one-time Pro unlock through Google Play.

Track Renewals does not request permission to schedule exact alarms; reminders are delivered through the system's standard background scheduling, which is more considerate of your battery.

8. Data Retention and Your Choices

9. Data Security

Your subscription data is held in the app's private storage area, which Android isolates from other applications on the device. Any data that does leave the device — exchange rate requests, diagnostics, and purchase verification — is transmitted using industry-standard TLS encryption.

No method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure; while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. We would also encourage you to protect your device with a screen lock, since anyone holding an unlocked device can open the app.

10. Children's Privacy

Track Renewals is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and, where appropriate, within the application. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when it was last revised. Your continued use of Track Renewals after changes constitute acceptance of the revised policy.
